The week of 9/12/05, jury selection will start in Trial #2 of the 2,200+ Vioxx lawsuits pending in the New Jersey Superior Court in Atlantic City before Judge Carol Higbee.
<>Case #2 involves J. Humeston. He is a postal worker and a Marine Corps veteran. He took the drug after he suffered a work injury to his right knee. Humeston was 56 when he suffered his heart attack. His counsel is the Firm of Seeger and Weiss, which also has a seat on the Vioxx MDL pending in New Orleans U.S. District Court. The next MDL hearing is August 25, 2005, and I will post a full report on the proceedings upon my return from it.
In the pending Texas case, Plaintiff's counsel has said the case could wrap up possibly by Wednesday.
My Firm has cases pending before Judge Higbee, and we will likely be there for the duration of the Humeston trial.
